The inaugural P&P World Cycling Revival will host a dazzling display of garden party style live music, from lovely classical music through to some of the best vintage acts performing in the UK and Europe. The below is a brief preview of what will be on offer in June. We are proud to announce our first two acts: Natty Congeroo and the Flames of Rhythm and Palace Avenue Swing will both be performing on our bandstand and, accompanying them, will be the very best dancers from Swing Patrol performing the Charleston, Lindy Hop and much more.

Our patrons will also have to opportunity to join in with swing dance lessons given by the Swing Patrol team. This is only a small selection of the musical programme at the P&P World Cycling Revival, keep an eye on our website and social media for more announcements.

Swing Patrol

Swing Patrol have become renowned for their high energy vintage performances all over London and beyond.  With 120 troupe members and a plethora of award winning teachers the Swing Patrol team now have a world class reputation for great performances, high level dancing and a true passion for all things vintage.

Originally founded in Melbourne, director Scott Cupit brought Swing Patrol to London in 2009. Since then, Scott has run classes all over the world, performed with his team at 10 Downing Street and Buckingham Palace, spent an hour dancing on the empty plinth in Trafalgar Square, written a book, and has appeared on TV shows Call the Midwife and The Apprentice.

In 2014 Scott took some of his best dancers to the BBC’s hit series Dragon’s Den with the aim to impress the Dragons and win their investment in the company. After teaching Deborah Meaden and Duncan Bannatyne to Lindy Hop and impressing them with his concept and leadership, Scott won a significant investment that gave him the means to expand the business dramatically. Swing Patrol now run classes every week night in London, Brighton, Berlin, Sydney and Melbourne at numerous venues in each city.

On top of their weekly offerings of classes, socials and workshops, Swing Patrol has helped spread the joy of swing dancing in many ways – through free dances in Spitalfields Market and by Tower Bridge, performing at summer festivals, and by breaking the World Record for the largest Charleston dance.

We will be bringing a selection of our very best dancers to the World Cycling Revival. We are very excited to be giving lessons to their patrons and performing alongside their dazzling programme of live music. It is a pleasure to be involved with an event like this, it will undoubtedly go down as one of the highlights of the Swing Patrol calendar.
